Meera Sanghamitra is an independent activist and has been associated for more than a decade with the National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM), pan-Indian collective of mass movements of Adivasis, dalits, farmers, workers, fisher people and other communities marginalized socio-economically. She has also been active in the struggle of the Narmada dam oustees for many years (until 2016). She is presently one of the National Convenors of NAPM as well as convenor of NAPM Telangana. She is also an active member of many women’s rights & transgender movements and initiatives at the state and national level, as well as civil liberties issues, freedom for political prisoners, anti-hate campaign etc.
