Almost 20 years ago, Rahul made a shift to the social sector from the corporate world. He contributed to the development of a successful rural producer cooperative in Himachal Pradesh – the Samridhi Women’s Cooperative Society. Through his association with Lok Vigyan Kendra, a Himachal Pradesh based organisation, he has worked on diverse forest-related issues – those of community-based natural resource management, value addition, marketing, organisation development and the related legal frameworks. As a part of Himdhara Collective, he has been deeply engaged in providing support to communities on legal advocacy to assert their rights over their natural resources.
Rahul has been a regular contributor to Sambhaavnaa’s programs, especially ‘Pahar Aur Hum’ a program for youth from the Himalayan region.
