Winter School for Rethinking Development
(Palampur, Himachal Pradesh)
Sambhaavnaa Institute of Public Policy and Politics is now into the third year of the Nayi Dishayein series! With the theme of ‘Rethinking Development’ we have tried to engage with young people and students in a process that questions our notions of development, society, polity and change. If you are in the age group 18-24, if you have questions that you are seeking answers to; if you are just figuring out how to frame the questions; or you are looking to understand the interconnections between different problems that you see around you; and if you want to reflect collectively And creatively just come on board!
Join our Winter School at Sambhaavnaa, which aims at providing you a fresh window/lens to viewing development, economics, society, policy and politics. It is a week-long residential program that attempts to critically engage the participant to rethink the current concepts of ‘Development’ that pervade society and public policy.
Through lectures, discussions, collective reflection, interactive sessions, debates, film screenings and book discussions an attempt would be made to re-examine our current understanding of economic policies, inequities in society, democracy, environmental issues. We would also try and get a glimpse of the various kinds of alternatives to ‘development’ – both at the grassroots and policy level – that are being experimented with in different parts of India and the world.

Eligibility – You may preferably belong to the age group of 18 to 25 with any academic background; you may have volunteered with action groups in your area; may have worked briefly with organizations working for change.

संभावना संस्थान अपनी नई दिशाएं कार्यक्रम ‘ के तीसरे साल में प्रवेश कर रहा है | विकास पर पुनर्चिन्तन’ के विषय पर युवाओं को शामिल कर के देश के विकास ,समाज और नीतियों पर सवाल उठाने की कोशिश करते हैं | अगर आपकी आयु 18-24 साल के बीच है, अगर आपके भी कुछ सवाल हैं जिनका आप भी उत्तर खोज रहे हैं , अगर आप जानना चाहते हैं कि सवाल कैसे उठाया जाना चाहिये ? अगर आप अलग अलग समस्याओं के बीच आपसी सम्बन्ध को समझना चाहते हैं, अगर आप सामूहिक और मौलिक रूप से कुछ सोचना चाहते हैं तो आइये इसमें शामिल हो जाइए |
सम्भावना के शीतकालीन सत्र में शामिल हो जाइए |यह एक सप्ताह का आवासीय कार्यक्रम है | यह कार्यक्रम आपके लिए विकास ,अर्थशास्त्र और समाज को समझने के लिए एक खिड़की खोलता है और निष्पक्ष दृष्टिकोण विकसित करने में मदद करता है| यह आपको उस ‘विकास’ की अवधारणा की समीक्षा करने का मौका देता है जो ‘विकास’ समाज और हमारी नीतियों को भ्रष्ट बनाता है |
भाषणों, बहसों, चर्चाओं, सामूहिक चिंतन, वाद विवाद,फिल्म प्रदर्शन, पुस्तक चर्चा, की मदद से कोशिश करी जायेगी कि आर्थिक नीतियों, लोकतंत्र, पर्यावरण पर आपकी समझ को आप खुद ही जांच सकें | हम इसमें यह भी कोशिश करेंगे कि इस कार्यक्रम में आपको भारत और विश्व में विकास के छोटे और बड़े नीतिगत स्तर पर चल रहे वैकल्पिक प्रयोगों के बारे में भी जानने का मौका मिल सके |
